Accounting & Bookkeeping

Books that are current, reconciled and defensible, maintained through the year, so the tax position is built on something solid rather than reconstructed under time pressure.

Who this is for

Property owners with several doors

Rent, deposits, repairs and management fees across multiple units, where the per property picture matters as much as the total.

Owner operated businesses

An LLC or S-corp where the owner is running the business and does not want to be running the ledger as well.

Investors who have outgrown a spreadsheet

The point where the volume of transactions makes manual tracking a liability rather than a saving.

Anyone who has fallen behind

Catching up work on prior periods, brought current and reconciled before anything else is attempted.

Scope

What is included

  • Bank and card integration

Accounts connected for automatic transaction import, so nothing depends on someone remembering to export a statement.

  • Transaction categorisation

Consistent treatment applied month to month, with a documented chart of accounts rather than ad hoc naming.

  • Monthly reconciliation

Every account tied out to its statement, with discrepancies investigated rather than plugged.

  • Financial statements

Profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow, prepared monthly and explained in plain terms.

  • Property level reporting

For real estate clients, results broken out per property as well as in aggregate.

  • Year end handoff

Books closed and delivered in a state the tax work can start from immediately.

Process

How it works

  1. Review

We look at the current state of the books, however they are kept, and tell you plainly what condition they are in.

  2. Catching up

Any prior periods are brought current and reconciled before ongoing work begins.

  3. Setup

Accounts are connected, the chart of accounts is agreed, and the reporting cadence is fixed.

  4. Monthly cycle

Transactions categorised, accounts reconciled, statements issued, questions answered.

  5. Year end

Books closed and passed to the tax side without a handover gap.

Engagement

How fees work

There is no list price, because bookkeeping that fits one business would be wrong for another. The fee is scoped after the consultation, once we have seen the actual state of the books, we do not quote before that, and a firm that quotes you a number over the phone has not looked.

Book a consultation No charge, and no obligation.

What determines the fee

  • Transaction volume across all accounts
  • Number of properties or entities to report on separately
  • Whether prior periods need catching up work first
  • How often you need statements
  • Whether payroll is included

Questions

Before you get in touch.

Can you take over books that are behind?

Yes, and it is common. Catching up work is scoped separately from the ongoing monthly engagement, and it is quoted once we have seen how far behind the accounts are.

Which software do you work in?

We work in the major cloud accounting platforms. If you already have a system that suits the business, we work in it rather than forcing a migration you do not need.

Do you handle payroll?

Payroll is scoped separately, since it depends on headcount, state registrations and filing frequency. Raise it at the consultation and it can be quoted alongside the bookkeeping.
